The beginning of treatment is focused on getting to know one another, building trust, and creating a therapeutic alliance. The client and clinician identify the clients presenting problems and strengths. Then, they collaboratively create goals and objectives. Tele-health is also known as “tele-therapy”, “tele-mental health”, “online therapy”, “online counseling”, and “video therapy”. Instead of coming to the office in-person, clients who choose tele-health join the therapy session via the computer or smart phone. Many insurances are now covering tele-health. You may prefer tele-health sessions if you are homebound, have transportation difficulties, are concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic, or simply prefer the comfort of your own home! We provide tele-health sessions to residents of Michigan and New York using an easy-to-use HIPAA-compliant (private) video platform.
